National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship public service program sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. At Baba Mastnath University, the NSS unit aims to inculcate the spirit of voluntary community service among students, bridging the gap between higher education institutions and societal welfare.

Objectives of NSS
  • Enable students to understand the community in which they work and identify social challenges.
  • Understand themselves in relation to their surrounding community through direct civic engagement.
  • Identify local community needs and formulate practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Develop group cohesion, collective decision-making, and shared civic responsibilities.
  • Acquire leadership qualities, empathy, and democratic attitude in public engagement.
  • Foster national integration and build rapid response capacities to address natural disasters and emergencies.
Key Activities & Initiatives
  • Free community health check-up and blood donation awareness camps.
  • Youth personality development, soft skills, and leadership workshops.
  • Active cleanliness drives under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan across adopted villages and campus.
  • Public road safety campaigns and traffic rule awareness programs.
  • Mega tree plantation drives and environmental sustainability campaigns.
  • Volunteer orientation programs and disaster preparedness drills.

State NSS Camp Jind
State NSS Camp Jind Ceremony

State NSS Camp at Ch. Ranbir Singh University, Jind (19/10/2021 to 25/10/2021). Two BMU volunteers participated and were awarded merit certificates.

National Integration Camp Bawal
National Integration Camp Rewari

National Integration Camp at College of Agriculture, Bawal (Rewari) (21/03/2022 to 27/03/2022). Two volunteers actively participated and earned distinction certificates.

National Integration Camp at Indira Gandhi University, Rewari (21/10/2024 to 27/10/2024).
Srishti Malik secured 1st position in Singing, 2nd in Dance, 3rd in Theatre, won the prestigious ‘Best Leader’ title, and was awarded a Gold Medal along with 5 merit certificates. Harsh was awarded a medal and commendation certificate.

7-Day Camp MMU Mullana

University-Level 7-Day Camp at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana (28/01/2025 to 03/02/2025).
Himanshu won 1st position in Tug of War and Skit; Yogesh won 1st in Volleyball; Utsav won 2nd in Tug of War and 3rd in Volleyball; Sangeeta secured 3rd in Tug of War. The team was awarded 5 medals and appreciation certificates.
