The Faculty of Humanities and Languages encompasses a whole universe of liberal education and intellectual domains that are at the center of the growth, nurturing and developing civilized human beings. The Faculty has been established with an aim to empower the learners to systematically understand languages, literatures, histories and cultures of the world and appreciate them as humanity’s common heritage. Awareness of this heritage will broaden the vision of students and help them reflect on social, political, cultural and economic structures and processes that are dynamic in nature and will play a crucial role in the nurturing of their talents . The Faculty is committed to provide an interdisciplinary and integrative pedagogical approach to learners and provide them a broad spectrum of subjects and courses to choose from that will suit their interests, learnings and future career profiles. Delivering a transformative education is the core mission of the Faculty. The different departments of the Faculty offer UG and PG courses and undertake research in a wide range of subjects – Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, Geography, Economics, Journalism, Education, Sociology and Library Science. Our research centers explore various themes in these subjects. The Faculty is also committed for the engagement with the world beyond the University, ensuring that our students have employability embedded as a theme in their courses and that our academic staff members are supported in seeking knowledge transfer and consultancy activities with public and private enterprise.
